Articled is a reading app that helps you discover better writing, save articles, read them in a calm environment, highlight ideas, and build a personal reading profile over time.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Articled collects, how it is used, who it may be shared with, and the choices you have.
1. Who operates Articled
Articled is currently operated by its developer, Koray Alkan, in the United Kingdom.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Koray Alkan is the controller of your personal information.

2. Information we collect

Reading and Discover activity
To provide and improve Articled, we may collect information such as:
- articles shown to you in Discover
- articles opened, saved, dismissed, or disliked

Tasteprint and personalisation data
Articled may use your saved articles, reading activity, highlights, and interactions to infer themes, topics, and patterns in your reading.
This is used to provide personalisation and to develop your Tasteprint.
Tasteprint is designed to help reflect your reading identity. It is not used to make decisions about employment, credit, insurance, eligibility, or other significant matters.
Device, technical, and diagnostics data
We may collect:
- device type
- operating system
- app version
- crash reports
- performance logs
- approximate region or language settings
- technical identifiers needed to operate, secure, and debug the app
Payment and subscription information
If you purchase a paid subscription or premium feature, payment is handled by Apple or the relevant app store or payment provider.
We may receive limited information about your subscription status, such as whether your subscription is active, expired, cancelled, or in a trial period.
We do not receive your full payment card details.
Support and feedback
If you contact us, join a beta, or send feedback, we may collect:

- provide and operate Articled
- create and manage your account
- save, sync, and display your article library
- support reading progress, highlights, and offline access
- personalise Discover
- generate and improve Tasteprint

- manage premium access and subscriptions
- respond to support requests
- send service-related messages

4. Our lawful bases
We rely on different lawful bases depending on how we use your information.
We use your information to perform our contract with you when we provide core app features such as account access, saving articles, syncing your library, reading progress, highlights, and premium access.
We rely on legitimate interests where necessary to improve Articled, understand usage, maintain security, debug issues, analyse beta feedback, and develop better discovery and personalisation features.
We rely on consent where required, such as for certain marketing messages, optional tracking, push notifications, or similar optional features.
We may process some information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, such as tax, accounting, payment, or app store requirements.
5. Who we share information with
We may share information with trusted service providers that help us operate Articled, including providers for:
- cloud hosting and databases
- authentication
- analytics
- crash reporting
- customer support
- email delivery
- payment and subscription management
- text-to-speech, AI, or content-processing services, where used
These providers may only process information for the purposes we specify.

- account information is kept while your account exists
- saved articles, highlights, reading progress, and library data are kept until you delete them or delete your account
- analytics and diagnostic data may be kept for a limited period to improve the app and monitor reliability
- support messages may be kept for a reasonable period so we can manage support history
- payment or transaction records may be kept where required by law
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.

You can request deletion of your Articled account by contacting:
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise personal information associated with your account unless we need to keep certain information for legal, security, payment, fraud-prevention, or legitimate business reasons.
As Articled develops, account deletion may also be made available directly inside the app.

If you sign up for updates, join a beta, or ask to receive news about Articled, we may send you product updates.

Articled is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child has provided personal information, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
